Australian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (ASUMB) was established
1971
ASUMB’s first scientific meeting was held at the Royal Hospital for Women Sydney
1976
ASUMB established the Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound (DDU)
1978
The Ultrasonographers Group was formed within ASUMB.
1979
ASUMB established the Diploma of Medical Ultrasonography (DMU)
1985
ASUM held its first joint meeting with the World Federation of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (WFUMB)
1986
ASUMB amalgamated with the New Zealand society and changed its name to The Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM)
2005
ASUM established the Postgraduate Diploma of Medical Ultrasonography – PgDMU (ASIA)
2006
ASUM established the Certificate in Clinician Performed Ultrasound (CCPU)
2014
ASUM established the Certificate for Allied Health Performed Ultrasound (CAHPU)
2020
ASUM is celebrating its 50th anniversary
2023
ASUM Diploma of Medical Ultrasound (DMU) concludes
